How do I set up my Live Ads in Shopee Live Room via App?

You can set up your Live Ads on Shopee App via Shopee Live Room in 4 simple steps:


1.Top up your Ads Credit

If you are setting up Live Ads for the first time, ensure you have sufficient budget to start running your ad. You can view and top up your ad credit balance directly before customising the rest of the settings.

2.Set up the duration of your Live Ad

When creating your Live Ad, you can choose how long your Live Ad will run for. You can either pick from the available options to set your duration or you can customise your preferred duration ranging from minimum 30 mins to maximum of 24 hours.


Tip: To promote your entire stream, your set duration should be as close to the time period you plan to stream for. If you wish to only promote during a certain time period during the stream, you can set up a Live ad with a short duration whilst streaming to boost just for that period.

Note: If you wish to set up recurring ads to run daily within a specified date range and time, you can configure the settings only via Seller Centre via Web as you are only able to create ads for current Livestream on App.


3.Set up the Budget of your Live Ad

If you would like to edit the daily budget of your ongoing or existing ads, you will need to ensure you set your ad budget higher than the expenses already incurred by the ad. If you set a lower budget than the incurred expenses, your Live ad will be immediately hidden until the next day when the budget has been reset.


4.Choose your Objective

You can choose between “Maximise Views” or “Maximise GMV” (eligible sellers) as your objective when setting up your Live Ads.

Note: If you set up the ad via app and start live streaming, your ad will take place with immediate effect. However, if you do not go live after setting it up, the ad status will appear as ongoing but will not appear to shoppers. Your Live ad will only be active when you are live streaming. 


How do I set up my Live Ads on Seller Center via Web?


You can set up your Live Ads on Seller Center via Web in 2 simple steps:

1.Set up your Basic Settings of your Live Ads


When setting up your Live Ads on the Seller Center, you can choose your Basic settings and Bidding Strategy of the ad.

  1. Campaign Name 

The campaign name will be pre-populated with a default name, you have the flexibility to customise it according to your preferences.


  1. Budget

The default mode is “No Limit”. Your Live ad will continue to run until your ad credits in your balance have been used up.

  1. You can set a daily budget with the amount you are willing to spend per day for your Live ads. With this daily budget, your Live ad will stop running once your budget is depleted.


Tip: Entering a suitable daily budget that you are comfortable with will allow Shopee to effectively maximise your ad performance within the budget limits. 


  1. Date

The default mode is “No Limit.” Your Live ad will continue to run every time you have an active livestream or when till your ad credits have been used up. You can also customise a specific date range for your ad based on your preferences. 


  1. Time

The default mode selected is “All Day”. Your Live Ad will run throughout the entire day on the dates you have selected. You can also customise the specific start/end time for your Live Ad to run the ad on specific time slots during the specified date range.


Tip: The time range should be as close to the real go live period as possible if you want to promote your entire stream. You can also only promote during a specific time range, to focus your budget in that time period.


2.Choose your Bidding Strategy

Live Ads will run your ad and determine the bidding strategy based on the objective you select. 

You can choose between “Maximise Views” or “Maximise GMV” (eligible sellers) as your objective when setting up your Live Ads.

  1. Maximise Views

With this strategy, Shopee automatically optimises the delivery of your ad to a wide range of audiences to increase exposure and maximise your livestream views within the specified budget and duration. 


Can I set up multiple Live Ads for the same Shopee Live? 

Yes, you will be able to set up multiple Live Ads for the same Shopee Live on both App or Web if you wish to do so. If you are doing a long livestream that lasts over several hours and prefer to only target buyers at specific points of the livestream, you can schedule an ad that runs at the start and another towards the end of your livestream. This approach allows you to effectively engage and increase the number of viewers during these peak periods.
